description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>The tidal shoreline buffer includes the areas along the banks of the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers that will be inundated by tides on a daily basis by 2080, according to sea level rise projections in the 2022 NOAA Sea Level Rise Technical Report. These areas are regulated under the DC Flood Hazard Rules. DOEE used 3.4 feet as the expected amount of sea level rise between 2000 and 2080 to determine the tidal shoreline buffer area. The 5.4 foot elevation was derived from the 2022 LiDAR - Classified LAS, given the existing elevation of 2 ft.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
