Existing ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server users

ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server sites

The setup package is designed to detect and upgrade an existing installation of ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server on the target system. The following steps allow you to re-register ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server with your server, once the set up is finished:

  1. Sign in as a Server Manager by launching https://gisserver.domain.com:6443/arcgis/manager.
  2. Click Site.
  3. Click Extensions in the GIS Server window.
  4. Click Edit Extension.
  5. Browse to ArcGISDataReviewerServer\Server<version>\Bin, and choose the ESRI.ReviewerServer.soe file.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click the Services tab.
  8. Restart all map services that use the ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server capability.

Note:

If you have configured ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server in an ArcGIS Server multi–machine deployment, repeat steps 1–8 for each machine in the site.

Common software upgrade questions

Do I need to uninstall earlier versions before installing the latest version of ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server?

No. If you already have an earlier version installed, the setup will automatically upgrade it to the newer version without any additional configuration. Additionally, you can install ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server without having a previous version installed on your machine.

Do I need to back up anything before installing ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server?

No. All services and site configuration changes are preserved when upgrading to the latest version of ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server.

Do I need to stop my GIS services and ArcGIS Server before installing ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server?

The setup will restart ArcGIS Server after the installation.

If I upgrade to the latest version of ArcGIS Server, do I need to upgrade to the latest version of ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server?

Yes. The version of ArcGIS Data Reviewer Server must match ArcGIS Server. You cannot run mismatched versions of software.
